Dispatched around the country, the Listening Project’s Pod is a small-prefabricated pavilion that can be easily assembled and disassembled to capture and record memories and important conversations of the British public.
The pure and minimal shape gives the building a strong character that is easily recognisable in different contexts. The shell is made of a double skin to cut down the environmental noise. The outer skin interfaces with the exterior world with extra large branding and changing its illumination according with the lighting conditions. Through this translucent cylinder one perceives a solid inner core. By contrast this second skin is opaque and dark completely isolating the interior and offering participants the freedom and seclusion to fully engage with their topic.
