Based on a 2.4 x 4.8m modular structure, the house can be composed in different ways to suit particular sites and orientation. The timber structure and solar shading panels create a shaded and naturally ventilated shell under which to construct the family home.
Modular wall panels, containing doors, windows and high level ventilation, are installed to enclose the dwelling unit. Composed on a 1.2m grid, many variations of dwelling layouts are possible to suit the needs of a growing middle class Ghanaian family. By adding and reconfiguring components, the house grows in stages with the family or it can be dismantled for relocation or recycling.
